You know when you have that desire to get out of the classroom and make an impact in a different and greater way?You enroll in an admin prep program to get your license, thinking it will prepare you to lead a school. What you didn't realize is the program had gaps, things they couldn't teach simply because they didn't have the time.
So what do you do? Do you wing it? Do you find a way to learn on the job?
Learning on the job can cause costly mistakes that could end your career as a school leader before you start.
What if there was an easier way?
What if there was some PD available that would prepare you for school leadership and compliment the admin prep program?
Imagine stepping into the Principal's office, your office, prepared to take on the challenges of leading a school.
You can confidently establish the culture of academic achievement, make your school the place that students and staff want to be, while having the support of the parents you serve.

What Others Are Saying!!!
Jamal Maxsam is a talented and genuine leader. The strategies and materials that will be shared will prove to be most rewarding in moving a school district forward to meet goals and develop standards that will propel [the district or school] in the direction of success as well as sustainability.
Mt. Healthy City Schools
I became an educator because I really wanted to make a difference, I wanted to help people live their full potential. It may sound cliche', but that was (and is) my heart's desire. I wanted to teach the group of students that no one wanted, the ones that seemed to be forgotten about but needed the most help, middle school students.
After I began teaching in a K-8 school, I realized all of the students needed me. They all had tremendous needs. To help meet those needs I took on leadership responsibility in the building, first as a team leader, then NWEA MAP testing coordinator, then coordinator of the school wide reading and math intervention.
Then I felt the desire, more like a call, to have a greater impact by leaving the classroom. No doubt, you probably felt the same desire and heard the same call.
I completed an Admin program, got my license, and degree thinking I would be ready to lead a school. I immediately noticed something, there wasn't a strong emphasis on leadership.
How was I supposed to lead a school successfully without learning how to be a leader? I would learn as I went.
After getting my admin license I obtained my first Principal's position. I didn't start as a Dean or Assistant Principal.
When I started, I thought I was ready because of my past experience but learned really quick that I wasn't. There were challenges that I wasn't ready for.
It's easy to think there was an issue with the Principal Prep program, or that I should've started as an Assistant Principal, but that was not the problem.
The problem is that Principals are required to do far beyond what the program teaches which is why nearly half quit within the first 3 years.
I created this course so I can share everything I have learned about leadership from my training, experience as a Principal, and over 20 years of studying leadership without overwhelming you.
I am going to Ignite the Champion Leader that you are so you can blaze a trail in your building.
I want you to be ready. I want you to experience success day 1, which begins today.
