In the past there were assemblies, emergency drills, student behavior, teacher, and student absences. There were systems in place that allowed educators and students to quickly adapt to the loss time. While chronic student absenteeism is an issue that is not covered in this article, we face an issue of absenteeism as a result of the pandemic.
Student may miss instruction due to a parent, care giver, family member, or even themselves due to the virus. Many may experience a diagnosis or have to be quarantined because of contact with someone who has been diagnosed. Not to mention teachers are experiencing the same challenges.
